Johnnie Merchant

My yoga journey began over 20 years ago as a way to slow down and reconnect with myself, especially during a demanding career in law enforcement. Over time, yoga became a grounding practice of presence, compassion, and listening inward.

As a lifelong movement enthusiast with a dance background and Pilates certification, I love helping students move with awareness and ease. After more than two decades as a student, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through I Heart Yoga.

In class, I focus on creating a welcoming space to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with the body—leaving students feeling more balanced, relaxed, and present. I truly believe yoga is for every body at every stage of life.
