 Studio Classes

Are your yoga classes heated?
All of our studio classes will be a comfortable temperature.

What do I need for class?
Lots of water, a yoga mat, sweat towel (if you have one), and your beautiful self. Leave your ego at the door.

What should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes you can move in. *Bonus points if you wear your iHeartYoga swag!

Do you have showers and changing rooms?
We don’t have showers. (They’re overrated.) We do however have a changing room you’re welcome to use if you’re coming straight from work.

I’m new, do I need to sign up for class beforehand?
Welcome to the iHeartYoga fam! Pre-registration is required and its always recommended to show up 10 min early to safely check-in and follow our safety procedures. iHeartYoga Studio booking and procedures HERE. iHeartYoga in the Park booking and procedures HERE

How should I prepare for class?
Please drink plenty of water before class so you’re fully hydrated (you’re probably going to sweat!). We also recommend eating 1-2 hours before our barre, vinyasa, and power flow classes so you’re fully digested.

Do all the classes have music?
Yes! Our teachers are multitalented yogi DJs. Individual playlists are curated by the instructor. Usually the music played reflects the pace of the class. *If you don’t like loud music, barre classes are probably not for you.

How many times a week should I practice?
Totally up to you! This practice helps you to develop body awareness so if your practice is feeling strong, come as much as you like! If you’re feeling like you need a rest, try our gentle flow, restorative and sound healing classes. We offer over 60 in-studio classes each week so there’s always something to suit your needs. (Click here to see our full schedule.)

Are the classes all levels?
Power yoga, vinyasa flow, and yoga barre classes are challenging practices that demand a lot from the body. That being said, we welcome all levels to come and try out any of our classes. iHeartYoga is all about your personal journey on the mat. We have a “do what you can, when you can” philosophy. Our teachers will offer modifications and adjustments as needed. If you have injuries, please let the instructor know prior to class.

I’m new to yoga. What classes are the best for beginners?
Welcome! Our gentle flow, yin, and restorative classes are the most accessible to beginners. They’re taken at a slower pace than our vinyasa, power, and barre classes. We suggest trying out a variety of classes and instructors to see what you like! Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time of class. You can sign up online or at the front desk.

Do I have to sign up online?
Yep - You can view our full schedule for booking classes HERE

Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits will be granted for failure to attend, complete or for arriving late or leaving early.

I paid my invoice but haven’t heard anything about the retreat since I booked. Should I be worried?
Nope! Once payment is received you will receive a confirmation email however, since these retreats book out months in advance, do not expect to receive emails in your inbox from us until closer to the date of your trip. We will send additional information as the retreat approaches.

I’m booking with a large group (6+ people). Do you offer a group discount?
Perfect! We do. To learn more about our group discount, please email support@iHeartYoga.org

Where is the hotel?
We’re staying at the beautiful Las Rocas Resort & Spa in Rosarito, Mexico.

Where and when is the wine tasting?
The wine tasting is totally optional (but so much fun!). If your retreat is a yoga & wine retreat, the wine tour is on Saturday following the first yoga class (roughly 11am-ish) during the allotted free time. It's about a 45 minute ride to the wineries. We take a shuttle from the resort so you do not have to worry about transportation.

What is the difference between a standard room and a suite?
Both rooms have a gorgeous ocean view but the suites are slightly larger and more spacious than standard rooms.

Teacher Training

I’m new to yoga. Can I do your teacher training?
Of course! Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just starting out, our 200-Hour Teacher Training is beneficial for all levels of practitioners. An open mind is the only prerequisite.

I’m not sure I really want to teach yoga… Is teacher training right for me?
Yes! Our teacher training program is an amazing way to transform your personal practice and deepen your connection to yourself. Willingness to learn is essential, not the desire to teach.

How often do you hold teacher training?
Our 200-Hour Teacher Training is held twice per year. It usually begins in March and September. *Schedule is subject to change. Click here for upcoming dates.

Where is teacher training held?

Who leads your teacher training?
Our teacher training is led by expert instructors Bree Koenig and Elsa Stuart. Supporting and guest instructors vary per training. Trust that you are in good hands :)

Yes. Outside of scheduled sessions please expect 20 - 50 hours of home study throughout the course of the program. Like anything, you get out what you put in so we recommend diving deep!

What’s included in the program?
Pricing includes an all-inclusive 3-day trip to Baja, Mexico, a comprehensive teaching manual, and unlimited practice at iHeartYoga for the duration of your training.

Is there any supplemental material I need for teacher training?
There is a supplemental book list that you will be responsible to purchase prior to the first weekend session.

I want to do the training but I know I’m going to miss a day (or two) - can I still do the program?
Yes. Attendance is required at all teacher training sessions but we understand that life happens and unexpected conflicts may arise. For every 1-4 hours missed you will need to schedule a one hour private with Bree or Maggie ($100). For every 4-8 hours missed, you will need to schedule a 2 hour private ($200). While we're more than happy to work with you to ensure you don’t miss a thing, it is your responsibility to get caught up and request any handouts that you may have missed. Please note: The maximum amount of days you can miss is 3 days.

Is your teacher training program accredited by Yoga Alliance?
Yes. Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is accredited by Yoga Alliance.

What does that mean?
Yoga Alliance (YA) is the certifying body for Yoga Schools, enforcing quality and content hour standards. Upon completion of our 200-hour program, you will receive a 200 Hour Yoga Certification recognized by Yoga Alliance. Most yoga studios require or prefer teachers to be YA certified.

What can I do with my 200-hour certificate after I complete my requirements?
You can hang in on your wall AND get a job teaching yoga!!
