Jasmine Castro played sports her entire life but didn’t try yoga until her senior year in college. She was hooked instantly and soon noticed longer, leaner muscles and increased flexibility. She finished college and continued practicing various styles of yoga, especially hot yoga. Although yoga started out as merely an addition to her workout routine, Jasmine soon found a deep belief in the power of yoga as medicine and its ability to heal. Hooked by the physical transformation, she continued to practice because of the mental transformation. Seven years later, Jasmine began a life-altering teacher training and completed a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification in January 2015. She remains excited, dedicated, and passionate about her yoga journey as both student and instructor. She continues to study, learn, and be inspired by her community of yoga teachers and is currently smitten with the timeless traditions of Ashtanga yoga.
Jasmine’s intelligently fun style stems from her trauma-sensitive training and her love of Vinyasa yoga. Her aim is for students to find mental clarity by combining breath and physical postures in a moving meditation. She encourages mindful movement with a strong emphasis on alignment as well as compassion and love for oneself. Students receive the tools necessary to live life fully and authentically both on and off the mat. Jasmine hopes students will leave her class feeling joyfully fulfilled by their hard work and personal transformation.
